Tessa was asked to be Mary in the elementary school Christmas program. She did a very good job and I had several parents comment to me that being on the stage is in her future!
Eliza was Deborah Sampson in the 5th grade wax museum (American Revolutionary war heroes). She worked hard on this assignment and was very believable in her presentation.
James was in the middle school play “Space Base” the end of January. He was Chief Officer Tango. Two of the 6th grade teachers wrote the play and it was actually quite funny.
Emma was on the varsity cheerleading squad for high school basketball
Emma participated in APAC (Asia Pacific Activities Conference) dance this year. In November a group of 10 High School girls from Concordia went to Kobe, Japan for 5 days. They had been working hard for two months to prepare. They performed two dances there and attended workshops. Emma liked the host family she stayed with and her roommate is one of her best friends from school, Talya Estey. Emma emailed a few times while she was in Japan. Here are parts of those emails:

Yeah, I'm pretty tired, but we had a lot of fun. Today I had Jazz, Latin, and Contemporary workshops. It was fun:) Jazz was hard and a lot of ab and floor stuff, latin was surprisingly really really fun and easy, and contemporary was fun, but really fast. :)
It is cold, but with a sweatshirt it feels fine. There isn't much wind, the sun is shining, and we're inside most of the time, so the weather doesn't really affect us. We ate at a sushi place with a conveyor belt that had sushi circling around. It was really cool, and my favorite was the sushi with cucumbers in it. :)Tell everybody: "EMMA LOVES YOU!!!!" please:) with lots of enthusiasm because it's coming all the way from Japan. :P

Today we did the best workshop of all -- MUSICAL THEATER!!!!!! :D It was literally one of the most fun things I've ever done!!!!!!!! Yeah, Talya was telling me that we're pretty lucky because APAC dance is like Vegas week for us!
