Eliza was "Groovy Kid of the Week" in her second grade class recently. She made her poster with very little help from us. That week her classmates wrote her nice letters, she got to be line leader and run special errands for her teacher, and I got to come in and read to the class. Eliza wanted me to read Kate DiCamillos, "The Magician's Elephant" because it is the book we are reading this month for our mother/daughter book club. I just read them the first few chapters but they all asked if they could borrow it when Eliza was done. The book is Fantastic! We just finished reading it tonight!
