Tessa had a week of doctors appointments. It has been one year since she was diagnosed with JDM. All of her blood work looks great!
March 29-30 James was invited to go on an Order of the Arrow
Ordeal weekend for scouts. He says it
was amazing but hard. Only two boys from
our troop went and none of our leaders.
When I dropped him off to meet the bus (they camped 2 hours from our
house) I was nervous for him. He later
told me he was nervous too. When he saw
the group they were meeting from Taiwan, one of the boys had on a BYU
sweatshirt and he immediately felt calmer!
He says he really isn’t supposed to share much from the weekend – but he
did share that he slept alone without a tent, couldn’t speak for 20 hours,
didn’t eat much food, and never worked so hard in his life. How James went that long without talking – we
will never know! I was proud that he
survived the weekend!
Saturday, after teaching my Zumba classes we went into Puxi
to eat at Carl’s Jr and shop at the Hershey store for Easter candy. In the mall there they have a movie
theater. The last few times we have been
there they weren’t showing any movies in English. We were pleasantly surprised that they were
showing Oz the Great and Powerful, a
PG movie in English. Our Saturdays are usually packed full – with school
projects, Zumba, church commitments, scouts, doctor/dentist appointments, etc. - but for once we could actually relax and enjoy a good movie! We missed
James but were grateful for a fun Saturday afternoon.
