I needed an excuse to get out my tacky red and gold decorations and to pass out some traditional red envelopes to the kids -- so we had a party Saturday night. Our friends the Krohns and the Newmans both lived in China for a few years so we celebrated with them. Tom Newman still travels frequently to China so he brought back a ton of Chinese candy. They made some delicious traditional dishes for dinner that night, making me a little homesick for China. I wanted to invite a dozen more families but John kept reminding me that our house is not as big as a church. So we trimmed down the invite list to three more families making it a total of 36 people. Great times!
